CODAC is proud to announce the upcoming training and implementation of an agency wide Zero Suicide Program. Health care systems and leaders design for a “Zero-based” mindset by changing the culture around suicide prevention and care.
- A CODAC implementation team has formed but we are missing a vital ingredient. The value of including a suicide bereaved person and/or someone with lived experience is paramount to its success!
- If you are interested in joining our team, sharing your experience to guide quality of care and helping fill this crucial role on our team, please email Farrell Carley at fcarley@codacinc.org.
Zero Suicide is several things:
- an aspirational goal designed to catalyze transformational change
- a suicide care model with specific practices for health systems to employ
- a movement seeking to make health care settings safer and more compassionate for people with suicidal thoughts and urges.

CODAC staff will have the opportunity to provide safer suicide care in a more robust and meaningful way. Through training in evidence-based screening and assessment tools, more frequent use of safety plans and close collaboration with community partners, CODAC staff will be better equipped to support patients at risk.
