— International Conference to be Held June 28-30, 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal —
CRANSTON, R.I. (June 25, 2024) — CODAC Behavioral Healthcare, the oldest and largest non-profit, outpatient provider for opioid treatment in Rhode Island, today announced that it will be presenting at the 16th European Opiate Addiction Treatment Association (EUROPAD) conference to be held June 28-30, 2024 at the SANA Malhoa Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal. During this international conference, titled, “16th European Congress on Heroin Addiction & Related Clinical Problems,” Linda Hurley, President/CEO of CODAC, will present on the topic of providing methadone and buprenorphine from a mobile medical unit. Ms. Hurley is also co-author of a conference poster on providing addiction treatment during incarceration.

In 2022, CODAC launched its mobile medical unit in Rhode Island which is able to dispense methadone along with the other two FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder (OUD) as part of medication-assisted treatment (MAT). CODAC’s mobile medical unit was the first in the United States to be approved under the new DEA regulations that went into effect on July 28, 2021.
